Are You Ready for a Change?

Wednesday, December 20, 2006

Come Serve on Saturday!

As many of you know, Tiffany and Eddy Craft have come back home after a a few years in Florida.

Saturday morning at 9:00 we're going to help them get all of their belongings off of the moving truck and into a storage unit. They're still looking for a home.

Meanwhile, you can help. Just come to the storage units right next to the church building ... and bring lots of friends! We'll see you there!

What a Sunday! 183 in Attendance!

December 10 was an incredible day of ministry at Crossroads Fellowship! There were 183 people packed in under our little roof. The worship facility was a full house, G-Force was (literally) wall-to-wall kids. Truly, yesterday's attendance demonstrated our immediate need to go to a dual worship schedule.

As announced previously, we will be making the change to two services on Sunday, January 7. Our new ministry times will be 9:00 and 11:00 AM. There will be preschool and children's ministries during both services.

If you have any questions, contact Pastor Geoff.

Time for a Change

Change is coming!

We now realize that, fom a perspective of growth, Crossroads Fellowship has reached its maximum potential in our current facility. Indeed, we were already at maximum capacity when we occupied the building. The "space crunch" is especially real in our children's ministry areas.

Therefore, it's time for a change.

The only "common sense" solution ... and a solution that won't cost us a dime to implement, is the multiple use of our space. We need to go to multiple worship hours in order to maximize our space and ministry. We know that it will be a challenge and a sacrifice. And we know that it will require more commitment from our people. But it is something that we must step up and do. As we begin this time of change, we must remember that the multiple use of our space will enable us to grow to over 250 in attendance in our current 4,000 square foot facility.

Here's what the Crossroads Schedule will look like beginning Sunday, January 7, 2007:
9:00 Worship Celebration, G-Force 1, Critters (Preschool) 1
10:15 - 10:45 Transition Time
11:00 Worship Celebration, G-Force 2, Critters (Preschool) 2

And that's it! It's pretty simple, really. We need every member of Crossroads Fellowship to commit to both service and attendance on Sunday morning. If you're not able to serve in our Children's Ministries, then we're asking that you commit to attend both services in order to meet people, sit with our guests, and and be Ambassadors to our ministry community.

This new system will also require the creation and creativity of a few new opportunities. These teams have the possibility of growing into some Ministry TeamSmall Groups. If you are interested in leading one of these teams, call or send a note to Pastor Geoff.
  1. First Impressions Team - Parking, Outside Greeters, Insider Greeters, Ushers, Name Tags, Bulletin Distribution
  2. Outreach Team - Process Guest Cards, Maintain Visitor Database, Make Outreach Contacts, Assign Guests to LIFE Groups, Make Outreach/Visitation Assignments to Members
  3. Spruce-Up Team - Do straightening and cleaning up between services.
I'm sure that there will be other teams forming as we continues down this new ministry road.

Begin now to pray for our new schedule and our new ministries. And get ready for a brand new chapter in the life of Crossroads Fellowship!

Experience the Nativity

This Sunday's message, TheFaith of Mary, will focus upon the faithful response of the young mother of our Lord. You don't want to miss it. We will be including film clips from the motion picture that is now in theaters. Worship begins at 9:30. And be sure to bring a friend!

Meanwhile, be sure to take your family to see and suppor this movie. It is currently showing in Hopkinsville and at the Great Escape Cinema at Exit 1 in Clarksville.

New Message Series Beginning December 3!

Sunday's Message - Lifting Your Speech Out of the Gutter

As we continue our series on Taming the Tongue," this week we will focus on the quality of the words we speak. Think about it ... how is your language? Are you known as a person of wholesome speech, or do you pick of some of your words "out of the gutter?"

Come this Sunday @ 9:30 (and bring a friend!), and learn about God's standards for our words.

Great Job, Crossroads!

The Soup/Chili Fellowship & Silent Auction were a huge success! You all gave a total of $1,486.50 toward our Pavilion Project on the land. And there are still a few "auction bids" to be collected! This should get us very close to completing the project!

Awesome job, and awesome spirit, Crossroads!

Peru Partnership Details

Our "Vision Team" will be making the first trip in our partnership with Reap North Peru from January 20 until January 27. Our goal will be to fill two more teams in 2007, then four teams each year from 2008 until 2011.

As you anticipate being a member of a future peru team, please remember the following:

  1. Each trip costs a minimum of $1000 paid "out of pocket" by each individual team member. The people of Crossroads Fellowship, through their generous missions offerings, will supplement the remaining $500 per person.
  2. Some immunizations are recommended. These include:
    • Heatitis A (2-Shot Series - Lifetime Immunity)
    • Hepatitis B (3-Shot Series - Lifetime Immunity)
    • Typhoid (Once every 2 Years)
    • Diptheria / Tetanus (DT - Once every 10 Years)
    • Measles / Mumps / Rubells (MMR - Most Have Received)
    • Yellow Fever (Once every 10 Years - Must go to Paducah to get this one!)
  3. A Passport is required.
  4. You will need at least another $200 for personal expenses (snacks, souvenirs, etc...)
  5. Remember that teams will be small - No More than 6 people.
Our goal, over the course of this mission partnership, is that 75 adults in our church will make at least one trip over the course of the five-year partnership. We realize that some will want to return on a yearly basis. We, of course, encourage such repeat trips. You'll want to visit your Quechua friends!

If you have any questions, e-mail Pastor Geoff.
